Description

Interesting and rare egg shell fragment of this enormous ornithopod dinosaur species from the Late Cretaceous of China

This restoration method used by local miners consists in the colmatage of the fractures with a mix of glued sand of the same stratigraphic level where the fossil has been excavated

David Unwin

it was originally described as a distinct species

In the Ifezouane Fm were some very weird fish with very weird teeth particularly among the pycnodontids

04965 - Nicely Preserved 2.06 Inch Partially Rooted Elasmosaur (Zarafasaura oceanis) Tooth Hexanchus Interesting and rare egg shellIt is a well preserved tooth. The color of its enamel varies between tones of cream and brown. This tooth was broken in small sector during the initial collecting efforts but all parts were put back together and there is no restoration and no fabrication. The broken and subsequently glued areas are indicated in one of the images. Elasmosaurus teeth from the Upper Cretaceous from the Oulad Abdoun Basin are relatively more scarce than the Mosasaurus.
